Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Spark 365 Ltd (“we”, “us”) handles personal data in connection with the DeskStag app for macOS and the website at deskstag.com. We are the data controller.
1. The short version
DeskStag is built to keep your data on your Mac. Your desktop names and colours are stored locally and are never sent to us or anyone else. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. The only personal data we actively collect is an email address you choose to give us (the launch waitlist) and, once DeskStag is on sale, the order and licence details needed to sell you a licence.
2. The DeskStag app
- Your desktop names and colours are stored locally on your Mac (in macOS user defaults). They are never transmitted, stored by us, or shared.
- DeskStag does not record, store, or transmit your screen contents, window titles, or how you use your Mac.
- The app makes network calls only to (a) verify your licence — a one-time activation check handled by Paddle — and (b) check for updates via the Sparkle update framework. Neither call includes your desktop names or screen data.
- There is no account and no login.
3. This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. See our Cookie Policy.
- Waitlist. If you submit your email to be notified at launch, that address is stored in our own Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Power Platform) CRM, inside our Microsoft tenant, so we can notify you when DeskStag goes live. We use it only for that, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure (Azure Static Web Apps). Like any web host, Azure may process technical data such as your IP address in server logs to deliver the site securely. We do not use this for tracking.
4. Buying DeskStag
When DeskStag is on sale, checkout is handled by Paddle.com as the merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under its own privacy policy and sells the licence to you. We receive your order and licence details (such as your email and licence key) but not your full card details.
5. Lawful bases
- Consent — for the launch waitlist (withdraw any time).
- Contract — to sell and licence DeskStag and provide updates.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the website and service secure.
6. Retention
Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or we close the list. Order and financial records are kept as long as the law requires (up to 7 years).
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your data, or object to processing, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@spark365.co.uk with “Data Subject Rights Request” in the subject line; we’ll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
8. International transfers
Some of our providers (such as Paddle and Cloudflare) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
