This site sets no cookies
The DeskStag website (deskstag.com) sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Our fonts are self-hosted. We run no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Anonymous page views
We count page views with Azure Application Insights, in a mode that sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser. Each view records the page address (including any campaign tags in the link you followed), the time, and the kind of browser and device. Your IP address is masked by Azure before it is stored. Microsoft processes this data for us on Azure in Europe and keeps it for 90 days. We use it only to see which pages and links bring visitors. Pressing the Download button is counted as one anonymous click, recording the same kinds of data as a page view — the time, the kind of browser and device, the masked IP address — plus the downloaded file's path. Pressing the “Email me the link” button on a phone is counted the same way, as one anonymous press recording those same kinds of data, plus a one-word result of the press (one of: sent, empty, bad address, robot check failed, error); the email address you type is not part of the count and is never sent to Application Insights.
A small bar at the bottom of your first page says this. Pressing OK closes it, and that choice is kept only for the current browser tab (session storage), not in a cookie.
The DeskStag app
DeskStag is a native macOS application, not a website. It uses no cookies. How the app handles data is described in our Privacy Policy.
If this changes
If we ever add cookies or any further tracking, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
